Weber Performer Charcoal Grill

The Weber Performer charcoal grill has been dubbed a charcoal unit that works almost like a gas grill, meaning it has all the convenience of a gas cooker built right in. As always, there are some things you need to look at when trying to decide if the Weber Performer is the right product for your home.

Probably the biggest advantage this barbecue grill has over any gas ones is the taste of the food. Most people know that a traditional charcoal unit gives a distinct flavor that other varieties just cannot muster. Many people who take their outdoor grilling seriously would never use anything other than an open flame to prepare their meals. The problem with charcoal grills is they are perceived to be difficult to use as compared to their simpler gas cousins. Who hasn't been in the situation where they are waiting for the coals to come up to the proper temperature while their stomach is growling. And on occasion we use too much lighter fluid, or maybe we try the 'fluid free' coal. These, however, never seem to work quite like they are advertised.

How Does The Weber Performer Charcoal Grill Do It Differently?

All you have to do is simply add the charcoal to the unit and push a button. I know that it sounds like a dream but this Weber grill actually works just like this. It takes about ten minutes for the coals to heat up to the right temperature, but anybody who has cooked with this kind of product before knows that ten minutes is not that long to wait.

Clean-up is a snap with the Performer charcoal grill from Weber as well. The ashes and residue fall down into a container that can be easily removed from the unit. Just empty the container and you are basically finished with all the cleanup. This is an added convenience that many people will grow to love.

Some will argue that the Weber Performer grill is only a barrel-style unit with a gas igniter. However, I find that this added feature in a convenient one that turns the tide in its' favor. While an igniter may not seem like much of an improvement to some, I think that it is really ingenious for these types of grills. This product has become a favorite in my family. We love the fact that you don’t have to mess with lighter fluid anymore. I also really love that we get to enjoy traditional char grilled taste without the hassles of other charcoal grills.
