Weber Summit S-470 Tuck-Away Propane Gas Grill

Great grill but not crazy about stainless steel

The Weber Summit S-470 Tuck-Away is a very nice gas grill but it's taking me a while to really get used to using it. The air seems to circulate around differently than my prior two grills which affects the amount of time needed. I've learned to adjust the burners accordingly and it works much better.

One of the features I really like is the sear unit and the rotisserie. From the very first time I tried the rotisserie is made the meat very moist and just as brown as I like it. The smoker with dedicated burner works great even though I'm a novice to smoking (but learning fast). I also found it to be easy to set up and once you fire up the burners it will get up to temperature in a hurry. The night light is another nice feature. When I'm grilling after dusk it gives me just the right amount of light.

While the stainless steel looks very nice when clean I don't really care for it. It attracts fingerprints and dirt like no other and is really hard to keep clean. If I could have found the same features in one of their 'colored' barbecue grills I would have definitely opted for it. However, the sear unit, rotisserie, and overall performance make it worth putting up with the smudge marks.

This is my third Weber gas grill in the past 20 years and the other two are still going strong with family members. That's the thing with a Weber, it will just last for ever if you take care of it. I highly recommend getting a quality cover to keep it protected, even if you don't leave it outside. Mine stays in the garage but is always covered from the dust.

I love the Weber Summit S-470 but just wish it came in a different finish. It's an excellent grill that will last you for many years of trouble free grilling.
