Great portable smoker grill

The Holland Companion is one excellent BBQ but I can't really call it simply a grill. It is more like a portable smoker and grill combo. Cooking is a little different on it as you always leave the lid closed without constant flipping of the meat. One thing to consider with this is it won't operate like other gas grills so you will need to follow the instructions.

We have used this Holland for a while now and think it is truly remarkable. The meat comes out very tasty and you don't have to hover over the food, constantly monitoring it. I can be much more lazy while grilling and the results are even better. The Companion works especially great on thicker meats like full chickens and roasts, which turn out like top notch prime rib. If the meat doesn't turn out to be the best you have had then it isn't the grills fault at all. If you follow the instructions that come with it by lighting the burners, preheating it, putting the food on the stainless steel grilling surface, closing the lid, setting the timer, and relaxing while the Companion does the smoking you will be rewarded with excellent flavor. It's really that simple. I'm assuming that some of the bad reviews I read were from people expecting it to be just like their other gas grill but this is so much more. Fans of Holland realize this.

Bottom line is I am convinced Holland grills are the best. This one is especially nice because you get the same quality they are famous for but in a portable package. I can take it to the campsite whenever I need to.
