Only a small problem with this grill

Have had a 5-burner model since 2006 and use it frequently. The only mechanical problem has been the automatic igniters which became erratic after about a year, but the unit allows manual ignition as well. Cooking, etc is great and I would recommend the grill. However, the only issue I’ve hit (for those who repair things themselves) is the very minimal information on the grill included in the owners manual. Not even an exploded view with parts numbers. I just replaced the fire box (after 4 years) and Ducane customer service was excellent as far as ordering and shipping parts, but according to them it really is “figure it out yourself”. Have just had a frustrating series of calls to try to find out the sizes of the 1/2″ machine screws that hold most of the unit together - a couple of them had crystallized from the heat and shattered when I tried to remove them. Called the Ducane number to see what size they were. They were helpful and provided some numbers which I hope will work, but basically could not tell me where I could go for any detailled info, and I couldn’t see paying $40+ for a hardware kit when I only needed three machine screws. A minor point, but for their otherwise great customer service it was a letdown.. Would still recommend the grills though…

Great gas grill with great support

I recently bought the Ducane Affinity 3200 as I wanted a 3 burner gas grill for my deck. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how easy it was to put together. I had the whole thing assembled in under an hour. This is much better than any of my prior grills so that was definitely a good start.

Well, I have used the Ducane 4 times now to barbecue my dinner and I can definitely say that this model burns pretty hot. The entire unit as well as grilling surface gets quite a bit hotter than my last grill which is something to get used to. It does give off nice and even cooking throughout the food and the burner on the side works very well. I also find that it is easy to clean after I’m done grilling.

I do, however, have a couple small complaints. First I haven’t had any luck finding a good rotisserie for it. I looked around for a third party one but have had no luck, probably due to the different looking bracket design. I might check with Ducane but I wanted to save some money by using another company. Also there isn’t a back on the propane tank housing which isn’t a big deal but it would look better if there was. This doesn’t affect the performance of the Affinity though.

I have read many reviews that stated the customer support is great. Ducane is owned by the Weber company so they have all that expertise working for them. I hope I don’t have any problems with it but it’s nice knowing that they will stand behind it in the event of trouble. Overall this is an excellent gas grill with only a couple of small quirks. I’d buy it again.

Wow, what a grill this is

I recently bought the Ducane Meridian 5 burner gas grill after a lot of deliberation. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend that much money on a new barbecue grill but I find myself grilling often so I needed a top model. So far, the Meridian has far exceeded my expectations and believe me they were high.

For starters it arrived safely at my door in under a week in perfect condition. I wasn’t sure how a large grill like this would ship but it had no problems at all. It was packaged up very well. So now, on to the performance of it.

The huge grilling area is just what I needed. The twin side burners are great but the selling point was the five main burners that crank out 60,000 BTU’s of power. I can cook a whole meal and then some for my entire family and I love doing that on this Ducane. The stainless steel design is great. It looks like it will last for many years and I really plan on taking care of it since I spent so much on it. The fitted cover that came with it was a nice addition and will help with that.

Overall, while it is an expensive grill, I highly recommend the Ducane Meridian 5 burner. You get a ton of grilling space, a solid construction, and all the power you need for any meal. They have been building grills for a long time so they are a name you can trust. If you need a full sized unit then this is your best choice.

Nice gas grill, easy to assemble

The Ducane Affinity 3100 is the best barbecue grill I have ever purchased. I still can’t believe it was only $75 more than my last grill which was a complete piece of junk. It never grilled the way this Ducane does and I now think their grills are the best value you can find. It is quality built and heats up evenly in little time. The grilling area is also larger than you might think for having only 3 burners.

Assembly wasn’t bad either. I put it together on my own in a little over an hour, and I’m not that handy with tools. My husband wasn’t around and he was surprised when he came home that the grill was ready to go. The only thing I wish that Ducane would have done is included a cheap tool to use for the bolts. My sockets aren’t the greatest but that is really our fault.

The first time we fired it up the flame looked great. Overall the grill looks awesome on our deck and the quality of the bbq is outstanding. The cover is heavy duty with a nice soft lining inside. I think that will hold up to some harsh weather while protecting our investment. I know I could have spent more on other grills that had more burners and other bells and whistles, but the Affinity 3100 is really all we need.

Couldn’t be happier with it. Glad we opted for this model instead of another cheapo grill from our local Sears.

Great barbecue gas grill for the money

I bought the Ducane Affinity 3400 3 burner gas grill off of amazon.com and it was shipped quickly right to my door. This was much more convenient than going to my local store and trying to lug a big box back home. The UPS guy was helpful in carefully placing the grill into my garage so I had room to assemble it. Speaking of assembly, this was quite easy. The whole thing took only about an hour and the majority of that was removing the pieces from the box and making sure I wasn’t missing anything. The whole burner unit was already put together at the factory so all I had to do was put together the base and set the burners on top of it.

This grill really performs well and the stainless steel grates clean up very easily with the grill brush. The temperature goes quite high so you need to get used to how much to turn the burners on. You can easily regulate the temperature with the 3 burners underneath for direct or indirect heat.

Don’t worry about not getting enough heat when you are grilling with this unit. The rotisserie is also a nice piece of craftsmanship. We have used it for chickens and the end result is a delicious meal. We found some good information online that showed us how to prepare a chicken the right way since we didn’t have much experience.

Overall, this Ducane barbeque grill is a very nice unit and I would recommend it to anyone looking at the latest gas grills. The size is just right for our family and it’s not overly huge, so it doesn’t take up much space on our deck. We didn’t want one of the giant stainless steel grills that seem to take up more space than a car. We seriously like it and all of our guests do too.

The best gas grill you can buy for around $400

This Ducane Affinity 4 burner is a quality name brand gas grill that is easy to assemble and even easier to use. Ducane is owned by Weber so that tells me all I need to know about the craftsmanship of their grills.

Since we don’t need a side burner or a rotisserie we decided to give this four (4) burner propane grill a try and we are satisfied to say the least. This was the ONLY four (4) burner gas grill we could find that had a 526 sq. inch primary grilling area for less than $400.00. The Amazon price came in at $399.00 which is just a great deal.

The shipping company was excellent as the grill arrived at the scheduled day and time and the large box was in perfect condition.

With all four burners going at the same time, you can quickly cook enough food for the entire household and then some. All of this can be done in less time than you would ever have imagined. I would definitely purchase the Ducane Affinity grill again!
