The Brinkmann All In One barbecue grill is a very innovative concept. When used as a smoker it works great. The temperature is very easy to maintain by simply adjusting the flow of gas as well as the air intake. One thing we noticed is when it’s a little windy the burner can periodically blow out. The way to solve this is turn up the gas but this gets the grilling temperature higher as well so you need to monitor it more.
As a grill it does not work as well as when you are smoking with it. It still works but just not as well. We find that we have to turn the burner up quite hot to get the meat grilled the way we like it. You can also run these grills in charcoal mode instead of with the propane. This works pretty good too but calls for more cleanup. It all comes down to personal taste and just how involved you want to be in the whole grilling process.
We have fried turkeys in it and this is where the Brinkmann All In One really shines. The burner on this grill is quite powerful, really. You can heat up several gallons of oil in no time and really put out some delicious meals. One thing to remember with this grill is it does not come with a propane tank on it. This will be an added expense but not a big one. Maybe $20 or $25 for a new one. As long as you keep enough gas in it you won’t have any problems but you need to monitor this. I have run out a couple of times in the middle of grilling and smoking.
Overall this is a great bargain for the money. Brinkman makes quality grills and this one is no exception. Highly recommended.

The Brinkmann 852-7080-V charcoal smoker and barbecue grill is a very nice entry level product indeed. The price is pretty good as well for the amount of smoking and grilling capability you get. And my opinion is that once you smoke your meal you will not go back to using a grill. One thing we found is that prepping the meat first as well as controlling the temperature is important to the success of your smoked meal.
One of the negative features of this barbeque smoker is it is built a little flimsy, but really what can you expect for the low price. Mine was shipped to me in a beat up box and the lid is slightly bent. It doesn’t affect performance but I feel it could stand up to more if it was built better. Though to be fair, the price would be higher.
And the heat is somewhat hard to control until you get used to it. As stated above this is pretty important with a smoker so I’d like to see some improvement here. Using charcoal complicates things but there could be a better way to accomplish this.
If you have more money to spend you should opt for a Weber but this smoker and grill will BBQ your food just fine. This is a good product to get your feet wet with smoking your meat which is why I called it a nice entry level machine.
