Basic Cleaning Instructions For Your Weber Charcoal Grill
Your charcoal grill from weber is built to the highest standards in the industry, but it will require some maintenance to keep it working at peak performance. You can follow these easy steps to keep all the parts functioning just like the day you brought it home. That way the next time you decide to barbeque you can just fire it up and begin grilling.
Right after you grill, you will want to clean off the cooking grate. Try to do this by using a brass grill brush when the grate is still somewhat warm. This will make it easier to remove excess food or barbecue sauce before it has had time to really set in. If the cleaning is becoming difficult you can try using a wool pad that has some water or soap on it. Don't apply too much pressure as you don't want to damage the grate at all, and if you do use soap make sure you rinse it off completely before it dries on.
Also remove any ashes from the bottom of the charcoal grill after they have sufficiently cooled. These ashes will sometimes absorb moisture and cause your grill to rust. It's best to remove them when they have cooled to avoid premature wear and tear.
Every once in a while, you will want to scrub clean the inside and outside of your weber charcoal grill's bowl. Again make sure the barbeque grill is completely cool and begin scrubbing the sides with a sponge or dishcloth soaked in warm, soapy water. You should try to use a soft cloth instead of a wool pad to avoid scratching the finish of the baked on porcelain enamel. In little time, your weber charcoal grill will be as clean as the day you purchased it.
One thing you should NEVER do is wax or paint the lid. The weber barbecue grill has an enamel finish that was baked on for durability purposes. Paint will only burn off and discolor the nice finish, leaving you with a charcoal grill that has lost its' allure. All you should need to do is wipe down the surface with a damp cloth every now and then, and your weber will look as good as it performs.
