How often do you go camping? If you only go once per year you may not need the best grill. Charcoal camping grills are also quite popular for a couple reasons. They are cheaper than their gas counterparts and also provide more flavor in the meat, though this is debatable. One drawback is they take more time to get up to temperature as you have to arrange the charcoal and light it. Plus you will be buying and carrying bags of charcoal along on the camping trip. But if you are not an avid camper then this is probably the best option for you. It won't cost you alot and will still be easily portable. Occasionally you can think up a great method to cook with wood, and you won't even need to compare camping grills at all. Some people use fire pits that allow you to build a fairly safe fire. You can even put the grill screen over the fire to cook some food. You can find newer models that are meant for outdoor cooking over an open flame. You want to make sure you get one made for that purpose if you are going to be grilling on it because some fire pits have chemicals on them that will burn off. No matter what kind of camping grills you look at, make sure not to forget the cooking utensils. You will want to find sturdy ones designed for outdoor use or camping. |

There are some more expensive camping grills which have alot of nice features to them. If you camp out alot and also could use it at home then you should look at one of these models. Some of them are powered by gas, but are small and portable enough to take with you on a hike. They do make larger grills as well but most are much smaller than your standard home barbecue grill. These ones are still small enough to move around but big enough to cook up enough meat for your family.
